  1. Indoor mobility scooters: These vehicles are meant only for indoor use and cannot be used outdoors. They are typically 3 wheeled vehicles and are not as big and heavy as outdoor models.
  2. Outdoor mobility scooters: They are designed to be used in the outdoors. These are available in 3 wheel models as well as scooters with 4 wheels. They are bigger and heavier than indoor models. Their wheels are not designed for indoor use and may thus leave marks on your floor if used inside the home.
  3. Indoor-outdoor mobility scooters: These types can be used inside your home as well as outside. They incorporate the best features of both kinds of scooters and are thus perfect for those who want to increase their indoor mobility, as well as enjoy the outdoors.

The type of scooter that you choose will depend on several factors. What do you need the mobility scooter for, are you going to use it only inside your home or do you want to be able to ride it outside, how often are you going to use it; these are just some of the considerations to buying a cooter.
